وصفت العمارة العربیة التآلیدیة بخصائص معینة عکست مفهوما وتصف بالعقلانیة والانتظام والتعامد وجاءت الکثیر من النتاجات المعاصرة لتعکس صیغا لعمارة غیر متعامدة یمکن أن توصف بالتعقید واحیانا بالعفویة أو الحریة الخیالیة. من خلال تقصی طبیعة" التعامد وعدم التعامد فی العمارة العربیة التقلیدیة وکذلک المعاصرة توضمح القصور فی البحث عن طبیعة حالة عدم التعامد فی کلا العمارتین والتباین فیما بینهما. یستند البحث على تصور بان حالة عدم التعامد لا تقتصر على العمارة المعاصرة وإنما موجودة فی العمارة التقلیدیة ولکن تأتی بصیع مختلفة إذ لم ینل هذا الجانب القسط الکافی من البهث،والتحلیل لذلک قد جاءت مشکلة البحث لتنص على عدم وجود معرفة کافیة بطبیعة صیغ عدم التعامد فی کل من العمارة العربیة التقلیدیة والمعاصرة والتباین فیما بینهما، وجاء هدف البحث لیحدد ذلک. أما منهج البحث فقد تمثل بعدة خطوات، أولها تحدید المعرفة السابقة التی تطرقت لحالة عدم التعامد وصیغها وبناء فرضیة البحث وانتخاب مجموعة من الأبنیة العربیة التقلیدیة والمعاصرة لغرض التطبیق ثانیا ومن ثم تحلیل النتائج وتحدید الأستنتاجات. لقد توصل البحث إلى أن حالة عدم التعامد توصف بهرمیة معینة، الدرجات الأکثر خصوصیة منها تتحدد بصیغتین هما حالة عدم التعامد الخطیة وعدم التعامد اللاخطیة وتبین أن الصیغة الخطیة المتمثاسة بحالة المیلان هی متواجدة فی کل من العمارة العربیة التقلیدیة والمعاصرة
