Authority in Architecture and Architectural Criticism

Many of criticism studies have focused on the concept of authority . These studies vary in their intentions, about the type of authority , according to their theoretical criticism directions. Also they varied in their disciplines, from the attention to the author, to complete care to the text; eventually they transferred to the reader in the last decade of the twentieth century .The research problem was "There is no comprehensive image about the concept of authority in Architecture and specially in Academic architectural criticism". This study aims to define the specialty of authority in architecture and architectural criticism .The research hypothesis was " the authority in architecture is convenient have multiple resources ,meanings ,and disciplines of enfolding . It is appear in the text exhibited to criticism through external items expresses the era and the rules of art. The methodology of the research is based on(theoretical study which defines the theoretical framework for authority concept in architecture and architectural criticism in general and practical study which investigated a group of academic critics, about the item of the framework .The results obtained are analyzed to reach to the conclusions about the Iraqi specialty of authority in architecture and architectural criticism .Research findings was (the authority in architecture and criticism is convenient , its resource is the text, includes many meaning , the most famous is the creativity , the effects and the superiority .The authority emerges in exhibitions, local and international competitions , and in the students products .The authority depends on some means , the most famous are ,the designers continuous encouragement ,grades given , and the explanation, in order to produce products responding to the era , through dealing with the design process , and the context used) . ).
